Description: Ludwigia Inclinata Tornado is characterised by its name with leaves that are tightly spaced and twisted in such a way that gives the appearance of a tornado. It is a striking plant with vibrant green leaves and a dark red stem that becomes more obvious with high lighting and Co2 injection. It is best suited to the background of most aquariums as its leaf structure is quite broad and grows vertically.
Difficulty: As with all aquarium plants, Co2 injection and appropriate fertilisation are recommended for optimal health and growth. Ludwigia inclinata Tornado is relatively difficult aquarium plant to grow as it requires high lighting and Co2 injection. When in optimal conditions it is fast-growing and can be propagated by simply trimming and replanting stems.
Emersed Growth: Growing Ludwigia Tornado out of water can be quite difficult due to its heavy leaf structure. In high humidity environments, the stem does not grow thick enough to support the plant resulting in stunted growth. Therefore, lower humidities should be used when growing this plant emersed. Transitioning can be somewhat difficult without Co2 injection, but with enough patience and care it generally does fine.
